Flight Details

The wedding reception and church ceremony are to be held in Genzano di Roma and nearby Nemi respectively (please see map). Both of these towns are located approximately 35 km (approximately 45 minutes drive time) to the south-east of Rome, Italy.

The nearest airport to Genzano is Rome Ciampino, approximately 30 minutes drive away. The following low cost airlines fly into Rome Ciampino:

Car hire and taxis are available from the airport.

For guests not wishing to hire a car and arriving on the same flight there is a possibility of arranging a small coach/mini bus.

For those not wishing to fly with the low cost airlines there is an additional airport: Rome Fiumicino, which is approximately 1 hour drive time from Genzano and Nemi.

Main international airlines that fly into Rome Fiumicino include British Airways and Alitalia.

Hotels

We are recommending two hotels for our guests to stay while in Genzano. We hope that this accommodation suits everyone’s requirements and we recommend that bookings are made early to avoid disappointment. Both hotels are ideally located for the Church and Reception venues.

Hilary Hotel ***
For those wishing to role straight out of the reception and into your hotel this is perfectly placed. Located only 20 yards from the wedding reception it is almost impossible for even the Best Man to get lost finding this hotel. The rooms will cost €80 per room per night.

Diana Park Hotel ****
The Diana Park is the slightly more expensive hotel with rooms costing €100 per room per night. Ideally located between both the Church and Reception venues, in both cases only 5 minutes drive away. This hotel was where the Irish team were based during Italia 90 (football world-cup) but please don’t let this put you off, it is really a lovely hotel.

We anticipate providing regular transport between the hotels, the church and the reception venues.

It would be appreciated if you can e-mail robandlavi@btinternet.com or inform Rob or Lavi with your flight and hotel accommodation details in order to organise transfers from airports and travel arrangements on the day of the wedding.

If you are driving from Ciampino airport, turn left at the exit of the airport onto via Appia (SS7), follow directions for Albano Laziale, Ariccia and Genzano. This road will lead you directly into Genzano.

From Fiumicino airport instead, take the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare) towards Ciampino and come out at exit no. 23; follow directions for Albano Laziale, Ariccia and Genzano.

The Church
Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso in Piazza Roma 1, Nemi, Rome

On arriving into Genzano, at the second roundabout, and the first after driving through the main High Street, take the third exit, via Nemorense, signed for Nemi.

On this road you will pass Hotel Diana, 500 yards on your left, continue for approximately one mile until you reach a Piazza / car park and petrol filling pump. The church will be immediately on your left and overlooks this Piazza.

Due to the low capacity of the church car park, we advise guests to make use of the shuttle service we intend to provide.

The Reception
Casa Galieti, via Appia km 31900, Velletri

The venue will be held at Casa Galieti, two miles outside of Genzano. On arriving into Genzano, at the second roundabout, and the first after driving through the main High Street, remain on the main road (SS7) following signs for Velletri. Remain on this road for approximately two miles. After a couple of bends you will see the Hilary Hotel on your left handside. Casa Galieti is located on the same side immediately before the Hotel.

From the Hotel Hilary to the church, turn right back on the via Appia back into Genzano; at the roundabout take the first exit on your right, following the signs for Nemi. Stay on this road for about a mile until you reach a square with a petrol filling station, Piazza Roma. The church is on your left.

Come raggiungere

In treno:
Intercity e Eurostar arrivano alla stazione di Roma Termini; se si vuole proseguire in treno, da li’ prendere il treno regionale per Velletri e scendere a Cecchina, altrimenti il treno inter-regionale per Cassino o Napoli e scendere a Campoleone. In entrambi i casi ttramite previa comunicazione della stazione e orari d’arrivo, si potra’ organizzare un servizio pick-up. Se invece da Roma Termini si vuole proseguire in autobus, prendere la linea A della metropolirtana direzione Anagnina e scendere ad Anagnina; di li’ prendere l’autobus con direzione Velletri, scendere in Piazza Tommaso Frasconi e prendere l’autobus in direzione Nemi; per Casa Galieti invece rimanere sull’autobus con direzione Velletri, che fermera’ di fronte all’Hotel Hilary e Casa Galieti. L’impiego dell’autobus e’ comunque sconsigliato

La Cerimonia
Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso, Piazza Roma n.1, Nemi

In auto:
Se si viene dall’autostrada, prendere il G.R.A. ed uscire all’uscita numero 23 in direzione Via Appia, Ciampino Aereoporto; proseguire per Albano Laziale, Ariccia, Genzano; qui alla seconda rotatoria prendere la seconda uscita, Via Nemorense, in direzione Nemi; rimanere su questa strada per circa 2 km, arrivando a Piazza Roma, la Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso e’ sulla sinistra.

Il Ricevimento
Casa Galieti, Via Appia Km 31.900 Velletri

Per raggiungere casa Galieti invece, alla seconda rotatoria in Genzano proseguire diritti in direzione Velletri per circa altri 2 km, Casa Galieti e’ sulla sinistra, 20 m prima dell’Hotel Hilary .
