Men and women have always had different ideas about their wedding day. For the man, it is a chance to get drunk with his friends, to become only for one day, the most important person in his wife’s life, of course, after her father. For the woman instead, the wedding day is a fashion show, with hair, make up and a dress she would have not been able to afford otherwise, but still keeping an eye on ensuring that no other women can take the spotlight away.

These differences are even greater if the groom is English and the bride is Italian.

Rob -  “I can’t wait for this day. However, I keep waking up with nightmares about the English getting drunk and falling in the swimming pool, trying to communicate with the 600 uncles and aunts who all seem to live in Genzano, saying more than “Chow, come stai?” and having to rely on my best man."

Lavi - ”Getting married is the dream of every woman. On that day I will try to focus only on important matters, such as making sure that my hair stays up all day long, that the white bikini I will wear in the afternoon is not (too) see-through, and that my eye shadow matches perfectly with my shoes.”

Uomini e donne hanno di sicuro concezioni diverse sul giorno del matrimonio. Per lo sposo, e’ un’occasione in cui divertirsi con i propri amici, e per un giorno essere la persona piu’ importante nella vita di sua moglie, naturalmente dopo il padre. Per la donna invece, il giorno delle nozze e’ una sfilata di moda, con acconciatura e vestito incredibilmente costosi, che non sarebbe mai riuscita a permettersi se non per questo evento. Ovviamente c’e’ da ssicurarsi che nessuna delle invitate le rubi I riflettori.

Queste differenze sono ancora piu’ evidenti nel caso in cui lo sposo e’ inglese e la sposa italiana.

Di questo matrimonio Rob dice “Non vedo l’ora di sposarmi. Certo, le mie preoccupazioni le ho, vedere tutti gli inglesi ubriacarsi e buttarsi in piscina, cercare di comuncare con i 600 parenti di Lavinia, che sembrano tutti abitare a Genzano, riuscendo a spiccicare qualcosa in piu’ del mio ormai famoso “Chow, come stai?” e soprattutto dovermi fidare del mio testimone."

Per Lavinia invece quersto matrimonio ha un significato diverso “Sposarsi e’ il sogno di ogni donna. Per vivere al meglio questa esperienza ho deciso mi concentrero’ solo sulle cose che veramente contano, come preoccuparmi che i capelli rimangano immobili, che il due pezzi bianco che indossero’ nel pomeriggio non sia (troppo) trasparente, e che il mio ombretto si abini perfettamente alle scarpe che indossero."
